Waiver

Martinez Baseball Club has established baseball tryouts precautions and protocols (below and in the attached diagram). These procedures follow the guidelines provided by the Contra Costa County Health Department and the City of Martinez, its officials, officers, directors, employees, agents and volunteers; as well as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If a prospective player has symptoms related to COVID-19 or any other illness on the day of the tryout, they are not permitted to attend and must notify Martinez Baseball Club. All prospective players must also bring their own hand sanitizer and face mask. These precautions and protocols are subject to change based on updated guidance from Contra Costa County Health Department and the City of Martinez, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

 

Scheduling and Registration

  • Prior to the day of tryout parents will have contacted the appropriate age level team manager to arrange a tryout day and time slot.
  • Once a tryout time slot has been arranged the parent / guardian will fill out and sign a digital copy of the registration form and necessary waivers (including a COVID-19 waiver).
  • During a one-hour tryout time slot only 12 prospective players will be allowed on the field
  • Players and parents must arrive 15 minutes ahead of scheduled tryout timeslot.
  • Upon Arrival parents and prospective players will approach the registration table one at a time to check in for their tryout time slot. Each player will sanitize their hands with sanitizer provided at the table and their temperature will be taken.
  • Parents will not be allowed beyond the check-in or check-out areas.
  • Parents / guardians will adhere to social distancing guidelines, including wearing masks while waiting for the tryout to finish

 

On the Field

  • Once the player has checked in, they will proceed to the field
  • Each player will set their gear 6’ apart along the fence in foul territory from other attendees. No use of the dugouts will be permitted.
  • There will be no gear sharing except for baseballs.
  • Players will wear masks when within 6-foot proximity of other attendees.
  • Only items exchanged by players will be baseballs
  • No food items allowed, including sunflower seeds, gum, etc.
  • Field markers will be placed 6’ apart with only 1 player per marker ensuring social distancing
  • Instructors will wipe down equipment between scheduled tryout timeframes and after events.

 

Leaving the Tryout

  • Upon conclusion of the tryout players will leave via the ramp along the left field foul pole where their parents will be waiting to pick them up.

 

  1. I/We, the parents/guardians of the above-named candidate for a position on a Martinez Baseball Club team, hereby give my/our approval to participate in Martinez Baseball Club Tryouts.
  2. I/We know that participation in baseball may result in serious injuries and protective equipment does not prevent all injuries to players, and do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless the Martinez Baseball Club, the officers, directors, agents, sponsors, supervisors, participants, and persons transporting my/our child to and from tryouts from any claim arising out of any injury to my/our child whether the result of negligence or for any other cause.  I hereby accept for myself/ourselves and my/our child(ren) the full risk and damage of any and all such injury which may result.
